I chose MysTic Images as the name for my photography because I am something of a mystic type of person. Although I photograph a variety of subjects, I am drawn to scenes and images that move me to contemplation. Not all of my photos do this, but my favorites do evoke a sense of wonder and, at times, mystery. I favor photographing landscapes, nature, and street scenes (including people).

I have photographed widely in American wilderness areas throughout the East and West as well as numerous American cities. I have also photographed in numerous countries from Russia to Zimbabwe, from Canada to Guatemala, from the United Kingdom to Australia to the Holy Land and in between all of these. (One of my photographs of St. Basil's Cathedral on Red Square in Moscow won a major award from National Geographic Traveler.) I love to travel and encounter diverse cultures. I have spoken rudimentary German, Russian, Spanish, and Italian, enabling me to have very simple conversations with people where those languages are spoken.

Now a retired professional, I devote my time to photography and writing (mostly poetry).  My photography is exhibited at Artists' Own, an award-winning gallery in Lafayette, Indiana.  I teach courses on Photography and the Art of Seeing, Travel Photography, and Basics of Digital Photography. I shoot digitally almost exclusively, although I still return occasionally to medium format film. I hope to someday digitize and publish some of the best of my many thousands of transparency photos.
